Overview
This programme covers the design, implementation and operation of information systems, together with the practice and theory of management, enabling you to develop expertise in both these fields. It shows how management can harness information systems technology to support business, organisation and decision-making.
In the third and fourth years, you can choose option modules in management or in information systems and programming.

If you pass the Information Systems Project or a Computing Project at the first attempt, the British Computer Society has approved exemption for its Certificate, Diploma and Diploma Project. It has also accredited these projects as partially meeting the educational requirements for IEng registration.

IT facilities
We have four newly refurbished, student computing laboratories in the department with a total of 130 workstations. Software, which runs on a range of platforms, including Unix, Windows and Linux includes:

The local area network is a switched gigabit/10gigabit ethernet. The department and college computers are connected to the SuperJANET academic network via the London Metropolitan Network. Departmental computer services and networks are managed and supported by the department's Systems Group.
