Geography (BSc) (Part-time) - 2012/2013 entry
Learn about environmental sustainability, globalisation, development and social exclusion from a range of approaches to the study of societies at local, regional and global scales. Develop the social and natural science geographical skills required for academic research and in the workplace, by studying climate change, natural hazards, urban environments, information technology and Geographical Information Systems. Enhance your practical skills by taking part in a range of field trips and practical classes.
This course is also available for full-time evening study.

Course structure
The programme consists of 12 modules and includes six compulsory modules in the first and second years. In the third and fourth years, you choose from a range of option modules and complete an independent geographical study.

- Methods, Analysis and Techniques.
Years 3 and 4
A choice of four options over two years, including:
- Applied Hydrology
- Coastal Processes and Management
- Environment and Development
- Environmental Modelling
- Gender, Space and Time
- Geographies of the City
- Glaciers and Glacial Processes
- Globalisation in the Contemporary World
- Principles of Geographical Information Systems
- Regional Economic Development and Policy in the EU
- Remote Sensing.
An independent project is also undertaken in Years 3 and 4.
