Environmental Management (BSc) (Full-time evening study) - 2013/2014 entry
Study this fast-changing and challenging sector of environmental studies and focus on the theoretical, practical and policy issues involved in managing the environment in today’s dynamic world. Specialise in social or political studies, natural science topics or retain interdisciplinary breadth. Gain experience of working with information technology, resource appraisal techniques, business strategies for environmental management, and field surveying.
This course is also available for part-time study.

Course structure
Year 1
You will take four compulsory modules:
- Basic Principles of Geographical Information Science (GIS)
- Ecological Communities
- Global Environmental Issues
- Humans and the Environment.
Year 2
You will take three compulsory modules:
- Environmental Processes
- Environment, Economy and Society in Europe
- Methods, Analysis and Techniques.
and choose between either Applications of Geographical Information Science (GIS) or Environment and Security.
Year 3
You will choose from a range of option modules worth a total of 120 credits. Please note: you must take either a literature review or a indeproject.
- Environmental Literature Review (30 credits) and three option modules
- Independent Environmental Study (60 credits) and two option modules.
