Community Development and Public Policy (BSc) - 2013/2014 entry

This dynamic award-winning programme will provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practice-based skills to develop or advance in a career in community work. You will learn about the latest developments in governance, citizenship, equality and diversity, partnership working and community engagement. You will be taught by, and engage with, academic experts and practitioners from a range of community, voluntary and local government organisations and backgrounds.
  • Course structure

    • To gain the BSc, you must successfully complete modules worth a total of 360 credits. You must take all core modules plus a choice from a range of option modules. You may take modules worth a total of 90 credits in each year.

      • Political Approaches to Social Conflict (half-module)

      • Transformations in the Governance of Local Spaces: Power, Politics and Communities  
      • Participation and Community Engagement.

      Year 4

      • Equality and Diversity: The Development of Policy and Practice in Britain
      • Dissertation or Practitioner Work-Based Learning Project.
