    • There are generally three taught modules a year. For each module, two pieces of written coursework are to be completed during the Christmas and/or Easter vacations and count for 20% of the course mark. For some modules there are in-class tests.

      In June, students sit a three-hour formal examination, based on the overall syllabus, which counts as 80% of the course mark.

      In the final year there are two taught modules and a 5000-word project.

      • Over 21: flexible entry requirements.
      • Under 21: normal university entry requirements.
      • Credit for relevant earlier studies.
      • Students without an adequate background in economics or quantitative methods may be required to take, and pass with a credit, two foundation modules from the Certificate of Higher Education in Economics.

Financial Economics (BSc(Econ)) (Part-time) - 2013/2014 entry

Gain a broad economics background and the ability to apply quantitative analytical skills, as well as an extensive knowledge of the financial sector. Receive exposure to data analysis and to the use of computers, and undertake a practical project. We have an excellent reputation for the quality of our teaching, providing training for employers such as the Treasury and the Bank of England. Our graduates go on to careers in all sectors of the financial services industry, both in the UK and overseas.

This course is also available for full-time evening study.
