Politics and Government (BA) (Part-time) - 2013/2014 entry
Interested in the major political issues and problems in the world today? Want to develop skills that will allow you to participate effectively in arguments about politics? Then this course will show you how. Learn to: develop an understanding of the nature of politics and government in contemporary societies; compare and contrast the institutions and practices of government in different societies; and analyse different theories of politics and government.
This course is also available for full-time evening study.

Course structure
You take 12 modules over four years, and each module is worth 30 credits (360 credits in total).
There are seven compulsory modules:
- The Study of Politics
- Comparative Government
- Contemporary British Politics
- Modern Political Analysis
- The Practice of Politics
- Democracy and Authoritarianism
- Social and Political Theory.
Option modules include:
- Capitalism and the Politics of Markets
- Challenges in Contemporary Politics
- Contemporary European Politics
- Politics, Power and Human Nature.
