Overview
The PhD/MPhil in Development Studies offers supervision in theoretical and empirical research on practices and experiences of development. Students are co-supervised, giving access to supervision in a broad range of topics in the field of development studies, broadly conceived.
You will be able to participate in development-specific doctoral workshops and will also have the opportunity to participate in the guest lectures and films organised by the development studies programme throughout the academic year. You are also able to join the London International Development Centre, providing access to a wide range of development-related talks, conferences and activities.
Our research areas include gender and development, visual culture and development, health, ageing, rights, childhood, social policy, NGOs and political activism, migration, urban and rural poverty, and regional specialism in Latin America and South Asia.
