Course structure
Core module:
- The Renaissance – Concepts and Issues.
Three option modules chosen from a wide range. Typically, this includes:
- Death, Disease and the Early Modern City
- Describing the Exotic in the Iberian Renaissance
- Kings, Cannibals and Columbus: European Visions of Amerindian Peoples
- Laughter and Literature in Renaissance Europe
- Power and Control in Spanish Golden Age Painting
- Renaissance Florence
- Ricardian England
- Rome: Place, Continuity and Memory
- The Making of the English Bible
- The Art of Persuasion: Religious Imagery and the Catholic Reformation
- The Changing Shape of Knowledge 1550–1700
- Travel, Empires and Cultural Encounters, 1500–1700.
You also take research skills seminars and write a dissertation.
