JavaScript
Develop dynamic web pages using JavaScript, XHTML and CSS, including forms supporting client-side validation. This module introduces the basic principles of object-oriented programming: objects, classes, methods, events and event handlers. Topics include: JavaScript client scripting; creating popup alerts, prompts and confirm boxes; using JavaScript for validation, e-commerce calculations, windows controls; object-based and object-oriented programming; JavaScript programming (decision-making, input and output, arithmetic, arrays, functions, built-in functions and simple event management).
(Prerequisites: (i) Introduction to Web Authoring using XHTML and CSS, (ii) Web Authoring using Dreamweaver, and (iii) Problem Solving for Programming (if you have no previous experience of programming) if studying as part of the Certificate of Higher Education; or equivalent web authoring skills (XHTML and CSS), basic Dreamweaver skills and some knowledge of programming if studying as a short course.)
