XML
Learn to use XML for creating and managing data sources. This module: introduces the basic principles of XML; demonstrates its growing importance in business-to-business transactions; provides hands-on practice in creating XML data sources; shows how to create new tags and parse XML on a web client; shows the relationship between an XML document and a DTD (Document Type Definition); explains the concept of schema; creates an XSL stylesheet; and demonstrates how to integrate XML with XHTML in order to display and manipulate data on the web.
(Prerequisite: Introduction to Web Authoring using XHTML and CSS if studying as part of the Certificate of Higher Education; or equivalent basic web authoring skills using XHTML and CSS if studying as a short course.)
