Creative and Professional Writing
If you are interested in preparing for an arts, literature or media-related degree, or if your aim is to work in a profession where the skills of creative and analytical writing are equally valued (for example teaching, marketing or therapeutic settings), then this module will be of interest. It will give you an opportunity to analyse and practise some of the diverse ways in which the English language can be used to inform, persuade and entertain. Topics include (depending on student interest): the reading and writing of short stories; news and magazine articles; persuasive communication; business communications; academic and professional writing; and writing on the web.
