Art Nouveau: Art and Design in Eastern Europe
This module examines how art and design, associated with Symbolism, Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts movement, were reinterpreted in eastern and central Europe and Russia around 1900. Through cases drawn from the fields of architecture, craftwork and painting we will explore the complex impulses, anxieties and hopes for the future that shaped the visual arts in this region.
