E-Commerce Applications
Learn about e-business models and investigate their relationship with bricks-and-mortar models, research the historical keys to success and failure and recent developments, specify and build an e-commerce website, and examine what is needed to develop and maintain a concept store. This module will be of interest to those planning or working in e-business. Topics include: business models; technical issues (security, integration, availability, scalability and performance, globalisation, tools for measuring performance, mobility and location awareness); business benefits (virtual communities, auditing, costs and benefits of different e-commerce services); advertising and marketing (including search engine optimisation, web analytics and HTML email).
(Prerequisite: Introduction to Web Authoring using XHTML and CSS if studying as part of the Certificate of Higher Education; or equivalent web authoring skills using XHTML and CSS if studying as a short course.)
