Theories of Development
This module introduces you to basic concepts and theories in development. It starts by defining poverty and development, before examining a range of 'mainstream' and 'alternative' development theories, including neo-liberalism and Marxism. You will look at instances of grass-roots development and consider the challenges for development posed by globalisation.
