Introduction to Ancient Near Eastern and Aegean Studies 2
This module follows on from Introduction to Ancient Near Eastern and Aegean Studies 1. The focus is on Mesopotamia, with Part 1 being devoted to the Middle and Late Bronze Age kingdoms and Part 2 to the Iron Age empires. Looking at sites such as Mari, Hattusha, Ugarit, Niimrud, Nineveh and Babylon, we will discuss topics including kingship, trade and diplomacy, expansion and consolidation, art and propaganda.
