The Prehistory of the Ancient Near East (10,000-3500 BC)
The 'Neolithic Revolution' is widely seen as a time of dramatic change in settlement patterns, subsistence strategies, religion and social structure. What prompted these changes? How widespread were they? Did they affect man’s beliefs and material culture? Recent excavations challenge our assumptions and shed new light on prehistoric art, ritual and technology.
