Culture and Society in Anglo-Saxon England
Anglo-Saxon culture was very different to our own, and yet numerous features of present-day English society had their origins in this period. We will look at social structure, government, religion, language, commerce, and the arts and sciences, and will try to understand Anglo-Saxon England on its own terms, as well as assessing its lasting impact.
