This module investigates the history of the world's largest democracy from 1500 to 1964, focusing on the relationships between extremely diverse communities in India. It examines the construction of Hindu kingdoms, the Mughal Empire, British Raj and democratic republic, using texts and images to explore the Indian experiences of this period.
