Reformations and Revolutions: Tudor and Stuart Britain and the European Context

Tudor and Stuart Britain underwent an epoch of profound crisis and emerging modernity. More broadly, Europe was experiencing the Renaissance and Reformation, military revolution and global expansion, cultural and social transformation, religious and political conflict, and state formation. This module examines early modern British history within this European context and through a comparison with, for example, France, Spain and the Dutch Republic.
