Foundations of History: The History of History (Level 4)

This module explores the writing of history (historiography) from the earliest historians through to postmodernism. It asks how the upheavals of the 'present' affected historians' accounts of the past, and looks especially at developments since the nineteenth century, including Ranke, Marx, the Annales School and the postmodernists.
