The Peopling of London: Migration and the Making of the Modern City
For centuries, successive waves of immigrants have provided the lifeblood of the metropolis, bringing new cultures, trades and skills which have all helped to make London into a world city. This module, based at the London Metropolitan Archives, assesses the contribution of immigrants to the history of London, and examines their experiences as they settled and made the metropolis their home.
