History at Birkbeck
Birkbeck has a long and distinguished tradition as an international centre of excellence for the study of History. We offer a wide range of courses at all award levels. We are passionate about encouraging our students to actively explore the past, not just passively consume historical information. Our courses explore lives and cultures from antiquity to the present day and embrace all the arts of the historian, from archival, language and research skills to the philosophy of history. Many of our courses are run in partnership with London's leading museums and archives, such as Hampton Court Palace, the London Metropolitan Archives, the Wellcome Collection and the Victoria & Albert museum.MPhil/PhD courses, 2010/2011 entry
