Introduction to Web Authoring

Our Introduction to Web Authoring short course teaches you how to use HTML 5 and CSS 3 to author web pages that comply with usability and accessibility requirements, and current industry web standards. It equips you with the practical skills to be able to design and develop a website for a case study small business or organisation of your choice.

Topics include:

  • HTML 5
  • CSS 3
  • validation
  • publication
  • colour theory
  • layout and typography

Prerequisites: Basic PC and internet skills.

This course is currently being run online.

There may be multiple instances of the class starting at the same date and time. This allows us to offer additional places and you can enrol on any that have availability.

    Most of our short courses have no formal entry requirements and are open to all students. You may have to fulfil specific prerequisites for some intermediate-level or advanced-level courses, but these will be specified where relevant.

    This short course has prerequisite(s). If you try to enrol on this short course without completing the prerequisite(s), you will not be able to complete your enrolment. Please contact us if you would like further information

    As part of the enrolment process, you may be required to submit a copy of a suitable form of ID.

    International students who wish to come to the UK to study a short course can apply for a Visitor visa. Please note that it is not possible to obtain a Student visa to study a short course.

    How to apply

    You enrol directly onto the classes you would like to take, using the Enrol Now link below. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis - so apply early. If you wish to take more than one short course, you can select each one separately and then enrol onto them together via our online application portal. There is usually no formal selection process, although some modules may have prerequisites and/or other requirements, which will be specified where relevant.
