Health Psychology

This introductory course explores the ways in which the study of psychology may be of benefit in maintaining health and treating illness. We will consider: the nature of health beliefs; causes and treatment of stress; psychological factors in addictions, cancer and other conditions; pain and pain management; coping with chronic illnesses; maintaining health; and the role of social and cultural factors in health.

This Short Course can be taken as a stand-alone course or it may be available as part of a Certificate of Higher Education.
