Storytelling in Television

This course focuses on the narrative strategies of a range of televisual genres, from sitcoms and political thrillers to drama documentary. You will apply theories of genre, audience and authorship to landmarks in televisual storytelling, such as Coronation Street, The Office, Twin Peaks, 24 and The War Game. Through screenings, discussions and practical work, you will develop skills in narrative analysis in the context of television production.

This Short Course can be taken as a stand-alone course or it may be available as part of a Certificate of Higher Education.
