Visual Art: Histories, Networks and Organisations

What makes a great exhibition? What are the differences between national museums, alternative arts spaces, artist-run spaces, studios and commercial galleries? How do these different spaces relate to create the contemporary art world? Through an investigation of different case studies of visual arts organisations, you will gain an understanding of the different roles and methods involved in managing, organising and curating the visual arts, and be introduced to the histories, critical debates and contemporary challenges of working in the visual arts sector.
