Birkbeck student surveys and feedback

At Birkbeck, we take our students’ opinions and feedback seriously. Receiving student feedback helps us develop our provision and work with students to improve students’ experience of studying with us.

We invite students to tell us about their experience at Birkbeck in a variety of ways including module evaluation, end of year satisfaction surveys, and inviting students to take part in student-staff liaison meetings. We have worked with the Birkbeck Students’ Union a post for a School Student Rep in each of Birkbeck’s five schools.

  1. Module evaluation questionnaires: collecting students’ views on their experiences on each module
  2. Annual student Satisfaction Surveys (February – April): Annual surveys (National Student Survey, Birkbeck Student Survey, Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey and Postgraduate Research Experience Survey)
  3. Student Reps and Departmental staff-student liaison meetings

Why student feedback is important to Birkbeck and to students

The departments want to hear from you about your learning experience on your modules, to inform our practice and to ensure you have the best possible experience.

  • Your feedback leads to change. View some of the actions taken in your department in response to student feedback below. It’s also very useful to know what you have enjoyed and benefited from, so we can continue with these aspects.
  • The more students who complete feedback, the more confident we can be that it accurately reflects student opinion.
