Spring Graduation 2016
Spring Graduation 2016
April 2016’s graduation ceremonies for Birkbeck students returned to the University of London’s Senate House in the heart of Bloomsbury. Six ceremonies took place from Monday 18 April to Wednesday 20 April in the Beveridge Hall, the largest hall in the iconic art deco building.
Over a thousand graduating students were personally awarded their degrees by Professor David Latchman, Master of Birkbeck, as well as receiving warm congratulations from Baroness Joan Bakewell, President of the College.
As well as graduating students, three new Fellows were formally recognised for their contribution to Birkbeck - Professor Dorothy Porter, The Hon. Laura Wolfson-Townsley, and Daniel Peltz - with the College Orator, Professor Joanna Bourke, speaking about their lives and involvement with Birkbeck and its community of students and staff.
