Partner hall: International Hall

One of the most popular of the University of London halls, International Hall houses over 850 students, couples and families in catered, self-catered rooms, studios and flats. This hall welcomes both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Location

  • Closest underground stations: Russell Square, King’s Cross, Holborn
  • Travel time to Bloomsbury campus: 7 minutes on foot

Facilities

  • 24-hour reception, quiet study room, common room, laundrette, lounge, bike storage, computer room, TV room, WiFi, cinema room, squash courts.
  • Small pantries are available on each floor with communal fridges, hob and microwave.
  • Rooms are fully cleaned once every two weeks and rubbish is collected daily (except for studios).
  • Communal areas are cleaned by housekeeping.
  • Rooms and shared bathrooms are located along a corridor.

CATERING

  • Studios are self-catered, the kitchenette area is fitted with an electric hob, microwave, sink, bin and a fridge-freezer for you to cook your own meals. 
  • En-suite and single shared bathroom are catered. You will have your meals in the dining hall twice a day, every day: breakfast (brunch at weekends) and dinner. There is also a small pantry on your floor with a fridge, kettle and a microwave so you can make yourself a quick snack at any time.

Contracts

  • Nominated students will sign an agreement with the University of London Accommodation Services. Once nominated by Birkbeck, all aspects of the student's contract and life in halls will be managed by the University of London. 
  • Contract duration: 40 weeks for catered rooms, 15 Sept 2024 - 21 June 2025. 
  • Allocation by Birkbeck in this hall will be exclusively for the dates stated above.
  • Contract start date cannot be delayed.
  • Students who have been nominated for a room in this hall and wish to request an early arrival should contact the University of London Accommodation Service once they receive their contracts. Requests for early arrivals will be dealt with exclusively by the University of London Accommodation Services (not Birkbeck accommodation).
  • Contract extension after June 2025 can usually be applied for depending on availability. Contract extensions are arranged directly with the hall administration during term two.
  • Rent includes evening meals and breakfasts, insurance, utility bills, WiFi.
  • A deposit and administration fee will be payable to the University of London on receipt of the contract.
