The night's activities
The first of our bi-annual Birkbeck Late Events will have Britain’s constitutional crisis as its core theme. How will Brexit be executed? What are the implications for the constitutional make-up of the United Kingdom? How are the challenges to Britain’s unwritten constitution being played out in political, socioeconomic and cultural arenas of the country’s public life?
A panel of Birkbeck academics will be joined by prominent SSHP alumni to address these and other issues, raised by an audience of students, staff and members of the public in a Question Time-style roundtable. Our alumni will also be available to respond to questions regarding professional life and career prospects in their arenas of government.
Special alumni guests J Richard McKee (BA Classics, 1990) Senior Immigration Judge, Ministry of Justice and Jenny Rowe (MSc Politics and Administration, 1984): Chief Executive, UK Supreme Court. Ben Worthy and Laurence Spurling
