Society relaunches!
The Spanish and Portuguese Speaking Society is pleased to announce its first event of the year with a film screening of 'Fresa y Chocolate' in the Birkbeck Cinema on November 4 2011.
The Society will use this first event to introduce its plans for future film screenings as well as an informal discussion, after the screening, to find out what events members would like the Society to organise and what's the most suitable time for meeting up. (They will also be collecting the £10 annual membership fee after this screening so if you want to join please remember to have it with you.)

November 3- 7 2011 Cinema of Brazil, Curzon Cinema. Connected by the theme 'Travel Stories', the films will be telling tales of Brazilians on the road or abroad, travelling away from Brazil in a foreign country, or exploring the limits of their own native land. December 9 2011 Christmas Party - B02 Malet Street, 6.30- 9.30 pm. Food and drink will be provided, however, if you wish to bring along anything homemade, relating to your country, please do so.
January 6 2012 6.30pm SPS Annual General Meeting - same venue as Monthly Language Exchange.
January 6 2012 7pm - Monthly language exchange.
We thought it would be good if we provided you with some articles from countries in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking worlds, so that each of us can do some prep before the meeting in case we are not familiar with certain vocabulary.
Note: We're planning to hold this monthly event on Friday evenings but since we understand that Fridays aren't convenient for everyone, we'll try to arrange a second meeting on another evening.
