The Bloomsbury Learning Environment
The Bloomsbury Learning Environment, or BLE, is Birkbeck's centrally-supported virtual learning environment (VLE), and is used extensively throughout the college.
We previously used the Blackboard CE6 (formerly WebCT) environment. In 2008, Birkbeck became part of a joint initiative undertaken by five of the Bloomsbury Colleges: Birkbeck, Institute of Education, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Royal Veterinary College and School of Oriental and African Studies, to use a shared Blackboard (Academic Suite) environment.
