Screening and talk with Baltasar Garzón and Vicente Romero

- Where: Clore Lecture Theatre, Birkbeck, Clore Management Centre, Torrington Square, London WC1.
Judge Baltasar Garzón will be speaking about Latin America and universal justice after a screening of 'El alma de los verdugos' (2007, 105’, no English subtitles). Garzón collaborated with Spanish journalist Vicente Romero to create this documentary about Argentinian and Chilean repression which presents the testimonies of victims as well as those responsible for torture and other crimes.
Special announcement: We are happy to announce that Vicente Romero will join Baltasar Garzón at this event. We will thus screen his short documentary 'Los años amargos' before 'El alma de los verdugos', and include Spain and the 'Memoria Histórica' Law in the general discussion.
Please note: this event will be in Spanish. Entrance is free, and open to all. No registration, first come first served.

El juez Baltasar Garzón hablará de América Latina y justicia universal después de la proyección del documental 'El alma de los verdugos' (2007, 105’, versión original española sin subtítulos). Garzón colaboró con el periodista español Vicente Romero en la producción de este documental sobre la represión en Argentina y Chile, que presenta a los testigos de las víctimas y a los responsables de la tortura y de otros crímenes.
Noticia adicional: Vicente Romero estará presente en este evento junto con Baltasar Garzón. Empezaremos por eso con la proyección de su documental 'Los años amargos', y se incluirá España y la Ley de la Memoria Histórica en la discusión final.
El evento será en español. Entrada libre. No hace falta reserva previa. Entrada por orden de llegada.
