Online safety training and accident reporting system.

On Tuesday 12th December 2017, the online training system was experiencing disruptions. The access has been restored from Wednesday 12th December 2017.

As of Wednesday 27th September 2017, the online health and safety training system is up and running. This also means that the accident reporting part of the system and online DSE assessment form  is also operational.

You can now arrange to assign certain training to yourself. The DSE training and DSE Risk Assessment can be assigned as well as H&S for Managers. Log in and go to My Training and select from the Library of Courses.

Please contact your departmental DSE assessor if you are experiencing problems regarding DSE assessments. Any other queries, please email healthandsafety@bbk.ac.uk.

Fire Safety

A new system for managing evacuation of the Malet Street building is being implemented. The system is called TagEvac and boards containing the system are being put up in key areas around the building. These are to be used only by trained Fire Wardens who will be provided with information on their use once all the boards are in position. In the meantime, the usual arrangements for fire evacuation remain in force. There will be no change to the general evacuation strategy, only to the method by which we ensure that areas of the building are clear.

UK fire safety standards highlight illegal streaming devices as a fire hazard.

Follow this link for an article published by IFSEC (International Fire and Security Exhibition and Conference) addressing this risk: Illegal streaming devices pose a serious fire risk.
