Citygarden: New Urban Sculpture Garden Opens in Downtown St. Louis, MO, USA

 

A new 2.9-acre sculpture garden and public park opened on July 1st 2009 on two urban blocks in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Citygarden features an eclectic collection of installed works, including sculpture by Mark di Suvero, Keith Haring, Martin Puryear, Jim Dine, Tony Smith, and Aristide Maillol. In addition there is a large video wall to screen artists' films and movies.

The sculpture garden was founded in partnership by the City of St. Louis and the Gateway Foundation of St. Louis. It was designed by Nelson Byrd Woltz, of Charlottesville, Va.
