Since 1988 the college campus sculpture garden has displayed works both by local artists and more recently national artists. The sculpture exhibits are both temporary works selected on an annual basis and permanent works from the college collection.

The art centre, opened in 2000, is based within the 24.6 acre park of the Clifton Municipal Complex, also home to the sculpture garden. Thirty contemporary sculptures are on display.

 

Erika and David Boyd Sculpture Garden

The Erika and David Boyd Sculpture Garden opened in April 2009, dedicated to the prominent artist and local resident David Boyd [d. 2010] and his wife a talented musician. The sculpture garden is managed by Sculpture for Leonia, a volunteer group that organises a programme of exhibitions around the town of Leonia. The garden hosts a changing display of sculptures by local artists who are selected to showcase their artwork for a wider audience in this attractive outdoor setting.

Open daily, dawn till dusk.

The grounds consist of 22 acres of well landscaped rolling hills that were created for the display of sculpture. In addition to the sculpture park is a two story 11,000 square foot gallery for changing exhibitions.
Sharing another portion of the grounds are Johnson Atelier, a functioning large scale brass and iron foundry for the fabrication of fine art, and the International Sculpture Center.

Sculptors with work in the collection include Magdalena Abakanowicz, Bruce Beasley, Anthony Caro, Nancy Graves, William King, J. Seward Johnson, Beverly pepper, Tom Otterness, Joel Shapiro, Ursula Rydingsvard, Manuel Neri, Fletcher Benton and Benbow Bullock. Bullock has two sculptures in the collection, his painted steel triptych "Pillars of Hercules", and "Albedo", a thirty two foot high stainless steel endless column.
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am till 6pm. Admission fee applies.

In addition to yearly special exhibits, The Puffin Foundation Sculpture Garden hosts a permanent sculpture collection which includes works by national and international artists such as Stanley Marcus, Sarah Haviland, Gil Hawkins and John Turula of America, and Omit Sharma of Rohtak, India.

The Puffin Foundation offers grants and awards to artists and arts organisations often facing exclusion.

The Garden is free and open to all during daylight hours.

Situated on over 350 acres of land, 19 pieces of sculpture have been installed on the University campus during a period of around 20 years. The collection was initiated by Director of Ben Shahn Galleries, Dr Nancy Einreinhofer.

The Witkin Sculpture Park at Rider University hosts a collection of monumental cor-ten steel sculptures by the late modernist artist Isaac Witkin. These works are now on long term loan from the Witkin family, originally installed on the campus as part of an exhibition of Witkin’s works called, "Out of the Crucible: Images Born of Fire and Water", at Rider University Art Gallery in 2005.

Open daily, admission free.
