The five-acre Besthoff Sculpture Garden at the New Orleans Museum of Art displays 60 sculptures donated by Sydney and Walda Besthoff (opened in November 2003). The collection includes work by Antoine Bourdelle, Aristide Maillol, Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Jacques Lipchitz, Louise Bourgeois, Arnoldo Pomodoro, Fernando Botero, Claes Oldenburg, George Segal and Jaume Plensa. Along the lagoon are two dramatic sculptures by Kenneth Snelson and another by George Rickey. The garden is well maintained and features a free audio tour highlighting 20 works.

The Sculpture Garden opened from refurbishment in March 2010.

The museum is open five days a week, Wednesday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This artist-designed outdoor sculpture display is the concept of Alexi Kazantsev for the Neill Corporation, created in 1997 in two separate locations, Hammond and Springfield.
