Teaching rooms and audiovisual support

The following equipment is standard in Birkbeck teaching rooms:

  • PC
  • data projector (or large screen in small rooms)
  • whiteboard
  • sound reinforcement
  • lecture recording (Panopto)
  • AV control panel with inputs for laptops (there are two types - see below)
  • telephone.

Lecture theatres have a lectern and additional fixed equipment including visualiser and microphone, all controlled from a touch screen panel in the lectern.

Other equipment such as flipcharts and conference microphones can be booked. Staff should add these when booking a room and external visitors should discuss their requirements with the .

AV control panels

The following spaces are equipped with touch control panels

  • Malet Street ground floor classrooms and lecture theatres
  • Clore Management classrooms and lecture theatre B01
  • Russell Square classrooms (30) and G10 (28RS)
  • Euston Road classrooms and lecture theatres
  • Cinema at 43 Gordon Square.

The following spaces are equipped with push button control panels
  • Malet Street classrooms (Basement and first to sixth floors)
  • 28 Russell Square classrooms
  • 43 Gordon Square classrooms.

ITS staff can provide AV support for events, photographic services for teaching and guidance on using Panopto.
