Institute of Physics Grant Scheme

The public engagement grant scheme provides up to £2,000 to individuals and organisations running physics-based events and activities in the UK and Ireland. Projects must take place by 28th February 2019. Applications must be received by noon on Monday 7 May 2018.

The Peltz Gallery

Peltz Gallery, based in the School of Arts in Gordon Square, showcases the creative interdisciplinary and experimental research produced by academic staff and postgraduates. It also provides curatorial and professional training for Birkbeck’s postgraduate students. Exhibitions profile the work of emerging and established artists and are aimed at provoking innovative intellectual interactions between academic and practitioner. Birkbeck’s Public Engagement Award Winners Announced!

The inaugural Public Engagement Awards were held on Monday 19th March to recognise and celebrate the myriad ways that Birkbeck scholars work with the public and communities to make their research accessible and to include non-academic expertise.

With 25 projects in the running for an award, in excess of 60 guests attended the ceremony and reception, where the winners were announced for each of the five categories, while a further 10 projects were highly commended.
