About us

Registry Services at Birkbeck is the central focus for academic administration in the College, and provides advice and support for students and staff, and supports the College's regulatory, quality assurance, planning, and academic processes. The department covers a broad spectrum of functional activities including student support and wellbeing; student administration; bursary and scholarship  administration; quality assurance and enhancement; student examinations and assessments; academic skills; academic policy and regulation; careers and employability; the College Nursery; and the equality agenda as it relates to students. This includes the Student Centres in both Bloomsbury (Malet Street) and Stratford.

We aim to ensure that students and staff are able to access authoritative, professional and comprehensive advice and assistance on a wide range of student- and academic- related matters. Registry Services staff play an important role in the development, interpretation and application of regulations and other rules, procedures and guidelines. These help students and staff to know what is expected of them, and to ensure consistent and fair treatment for all.

As well as students and staff, Registry Services provides services for a wide range of external stakeholders including employers, sponsors, funding bodies and other external agencies.
