Scrutiny of reports by QAC/TQEC panels
To date, annual programme monitoring reports have been scrutinised by a panel of the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) established for this purpose. From 2009/10 onwards they will be scrutinised by Quality Monitoring Working Groups convened by the Teaching and Quality Enhancement Committee (TQEC).
The remit of each working group will be to:
- identify any major omissions in the report;
- seek clarification from the author with regard to content, policy and procedural issues where necessary;
- review the appropriateness of actions taken, or proposed action to be taken;
- draw to the attention of the Programme Director/Head of Department areas of innovative and excellent practice, and areas in which there is a deficit of good practice.
The working groups will report to the TQEC the general themes and areas of best practice that are identified. Areas of innovative and excellent practice, and areas in which there is a deficit of good practice, will be drawn to the attention of the Department/School.
