- 2007-2011: HECSU/BIS/fdf (£395,000) Part-time Students’ Career Making and Employers’ attitudes to part-time students: a national longitudinal study of part-time students at the start and end of their course drawn from 25 HEIs across the UK. The study aims to investigate part-time students' motivations, expectations and aspirations in studying, and how these influence their decision-making about work and careers. It will also investigate employers’ attitudes to staff studying part-time.
- Other research interests include student funding and finances, widening participation, and the issues of access and equity in higher education.
