Continuing professional development in psychology

One and two term courses

The courses on our Certificates may be taken individually without completing a Certificate. Students taking these courses for continuing professional development typically take one or more of these courses.

Students who want to study the practical applications of psychology – either for their work or out of general interest – may complete our Certificate of Higher Education in Applied Psychology. Whilst you do not have to commit to completing the whole award you may find that by studying one course at a time, according to your interest, you accrue enough credits for a Certificate.

The one and two term courses on our Certificate of Higher Education in Psychology that may also be of interest include, for example, Social Psychology, The Developing Child: A Psychological Perspective, Understanding Human Personality, Biological Basis of Behaviour.

All these courses are taught and assessed at undergraduate level in small, interactive classes that assume no previous knowledge of psychology.

Students looking for counselling training may be interested in the course Introduction to Counselling which leads into the Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling and Counselling Skills.
