Conversion course and Master's programmes

Conversion course

If your degree is not in psychology but you would like to become a professional psychologist, you will need to take what’s referred to as a ‘conversion’ course before applying to postgraduate programmes such as counselling psychology; health psychology; educational psychology; occupational psychology; sports psychology etc. Conversion courses give you the basic grounding in the theory and methods of academic psychology.

Our conversion course is a 2-3 year part-time programme that you take in the evenings. It is ideal for busy working Londoners gearing up for a change of career. You may graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology , or you may wish to study for an extra year and graduate with an MSc Psychology.

Note: The entry criteria for the Postgraduate Diploma include some previous study in psychology. Students who do not have this at the time of their application will be offered a place on the Foundation Year, which must be completed before starting the Postgraduate Diploma.
