BSc Psychology

Students who have A levels (or the equivalent)

Students who have A levels (or the equivalent) may apply to join our 3 year BSc Psychology programme. They will take their classes in the evening and study during the day. However they may be able to find some time during the day for work-related activities (paid work; training; internships; volunteering; shadowing etc.) to strengthen their CVs.

Students who do not have traditional qualifications

Students who do not have traditional qualifications but who can demonstrate the potential to successfully complete the degree may be offered a place on the 4 year BSc Psychology programme. Students on this programme take exactly the same courses as the students on the 3 year programme but have more time to study, acquire the necessary academic skills and complete their assessments (all of which help their performance on the programme). They also have time to work during the day as all our courses are taught in the evening.

Students who do not meet the programme’s entrance criteria in maths and English.

Students who do not have the necessary qualifications in maths and English but who demonstrate the potential to successfully complete the degree may be offered a place on a pathway through the first year of the 4 year BSc Psychology called ‘Route 1A’. Courses on this pathway are taught in small, interactive classes designed to ensure students develop the necessary skills in basic maths, academic English and study skills to successfully complete the degree. Once they finish their first year, students on this pathway move onto the second year of the 4 year BSc Psychology with the other 4 year BSc programme students.
