Our main campus is located at the heart of academic London in Bloomsbury (WC1). This part of central London not only contains a wealth of world-class research resources, but also offers world-famous museums and galleries in a setting of beautiful, leafy squares.
We also offer a range of courses in Stratford (E15) – giving you the opportunity to study closer to home if you live in east London.
Nearby museums and galleries in central London
- We are five minutes from the British Museum, and the British Library is a 10-minute walk away.
- Also nearby are many other specialist research resources, including the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, the Warburg Institute and the Wellcome Collection.
- Birkbeck is situated at the centre of the University of London’s central London campus – surrounded by other colleges such as University College London (UCL), the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and the School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
- In addition, the University of London Union (ULU) is right next door, and our students can access all of ULU’s sports and social facilities, including the largest indoor pool in central London.
