Flexible evening study options
Complete your undergraduate degree in either three, four or six years
At Birkbeck you have the option to study for an undergraduate degree at a pace and intensity that suits you. We offer over 65 BA, BSc and LLB programmes, and in many subjects you can choose to complete your studies in three, four or six years by evening study.
Three-year evening degrees
All applications (from Home and international students) for our three-year evening degrees are made via the central universities admissions service, UCAS. See the UCAS website for details of how to apply.
The three-year programmes are also classified by the Student Loans Company as full-time, and Home students can apply for maintenance loans and grantsalongside their tuition fee loans.
International students are eligible to apply for our three-year evening degree programmes, as these are classified by UCAS (the central universities admissions service) as full-time study and qualify for student visa status.
Check our full range of three-year evening programmes.
Four and six-year evening degrees
We have a flexible entry policy for our four- and six-year evening programmes. If you’re over 21, we won’t ask for formal qualifications, but will make our own assessment of your skills and knowledge, based on interviews and sometimes short tests. If you are under 21, you will need to meet normal university entry requirements with formal qualifications (e.g. recognised school-leaving qualifications).
On completion, you can progress to postgraduate study – choosing from over 190 Master’s degrees (MA/MSc/LLM) at Birkbeck.
