Credit for prior studies

If you have studied part of an undergraduate degree programme elsewhere, you may be able to complete a BA or BSc programme at Birkbeck in less than the normal time.

The credit we can give depends on whether your earlier studies are directly relevant to your proposed programme here – and whether they are recent enough to remain useful.

Most of our courses are organised on the basis of modules with annual examinations, so we will consider the examinations you have passed already with a view to exempting you from the equivalent modules and their examinations here.
