Interdisciplinary courses
We offer many programmes of study that draw on more than one traditional discipline or branch of knowledge – for example, English literature and history, or politics and philosophy. These programmes use the expertise produced across a range of disciplines and offer innovative ways of learning about topics that cannot be pigeon-holed into one particular area.
Interdisciplinary degrees are ideal for students with broad subject interests rather than specific disciplinary attachments.
Some of these courses are ‘combined degrees’ involving roughly equal numbers of modules taken from two different areas. Others are fully ‘interdisciplinary’, meaning that an integrated programme of study is delivered by members of a number of different academic departments.
