Julie tried out a couple of short courses before she started her degree.

'I started with a couple of short courses to see if I felt I could do it before committing myself. It was a great way to get a feel for studying again.

'I really enjoyed the style and quality of the teaching, and the encouragement and support you give and receive from your fellow students, many of whom become friends as well.

'Achieving the Certificate enabled me to get exemption from the first year of my BA History. It was a really good foundation and prepared me for degree study.'
